Bio

Kian is a law student at Georgetown University Law Center and a registered Patent Agent with experience in patent preparation and prosecution across diverse technology fields including consumer electronics, augmented reality, and machine learning.

He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics, a minor in Pre-Medical Studies, as well as a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, from Illinois Institute of Technology. During his studies, Kian conducted research on artificial intelligence models, including automated segmentation of the heart from cardiac MRI images and efficient sorting methods for noisy datasets of CGM measurements. His work in this field led him to translate the laboratory's digital infrastructure into curricular modules for local K-12 students, which was considered for the 2020 Change@illinoisTech incubator challenge.

At Georgetown, Kian is focused on the intersection of intellectual property law, technology, and policy, with a particular interest in expanding access to patent protections and fostering innovation. He will be joining Latham & Watkins as a Summer Associate in the Intellectual Property Litigation group in 2026.

In his free time, Kian enjoys working on side projects that blend technology and creativity, hiking nature trails, playing volleyball and chess, and reading about innovation.
